Program

Parents bring their little ones to class one morning a week, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The children’s time is divided into free play, guided group play, and individual play to promote fine motor skills (play dough, painting, arts, and crafts).

We have a beautiful playroom that includes a play kitchen, library and reading area, dress-up area, and train table. Parents have poured many hours of love, energy, and hard work into creating and maintaining a space that is cheerful and stimulating. It’s also flexible enough to allow different children to pursue various activities at the same time.

Activities and equipment include:

  • Puzzles
  • Sensory table
  • Riding toys
  • Painting
  • Pasting
  • Story-telling
  • Dress-up
  • Matching games
  • Field trips
  • Singing
  • Instruments
  • Puppets

During the first hour, all parents stay with the children. During the second hour, the parents who are signed up for Snack and Helper duties stay with the teacher and children. The rest of the parents attend a group discussion led by a Parent Instructor from Peninsula College.
